Casting Study: Housing & Frame

The elements of this equipment (TYCAS) were created to detect the positions of approaching aircraft according to new security norms of the IATA. The process proved to be more economical compared to traditional machining despite limited series and to pressure die cast aluminium. The design’s success can be attributed to off-mold dimensional precision of the zinc die casting and its aptitude to demanding surface treatment. The die cast design is to replace the plastic alternative plastic.
