driving2_photo2_caseID170This is an excellent alternative to engineering plastics, aluminium or milled – sintered steel for the realization of driving gears for toothed belts (electronics) or pinion engagement (building, mechanical, precision hardware). Off-tool net shape thin wall zinc die castings eliminate the material build-up risk at gear edge (as encountered with plastics), achieving high dimensional precision at the level of the bores for motor shafts without machining (0.001-0.02 mm / 0.0004-0.001 inches), according to the type of fitting on shaft (bonded or tight). The economy of the process reaches 2 to 10 times compared to classical shaving.
