Casting Study: Bearing Attachment

ln this example, a ball bearing housing which is die cast in alloy Z410 (equivalent to BS 1004B) is attached to a thin continuously electrogalvanized steel sheet pressing. Studs – integral rivets – are cast into the housing. After the steel pressing is located, the five studs are simultaneously riveted onto the steel, which results in a firm permanent joint.
