Casting Study: Door Brake

Automatic closing mechanisms for swing doors have to be adjustable and brake the movement of the door. The mechanism must be strong, resistant, reliable, and compact enough to be housed in a casing. Pressure injected zinc alloy casings offer undeniable advantages, such as resistance to mechanical stresses like impact, force, and pressure variations; resistance to floor cleaning solvents and cement; consistency even when mass produced; durability; watertight; and accuracy of the holes bored to house the bearings.
