Casting Study: Cigarette Lighter Case

This series of cigarette lighters consists of a range of different models, each of which appeals to the individual taste of the user. The most prestigious models are given appropriate names: Golf, Nantes, Macito, Connubio, Mississippi, and Gigolò. The thickness of the zinc alloy pressure die castings forming these cases varies from 0.7 to 1 mm, giving weights of 30 to 60g. Each model has a different decoration on the external surfaces, and this is enhanced by the range of plated finishes used, including copper, brass, bronze, nickel, and gold.
